L'Académie des Arts et Sciences du Cinéma a annoncé que 71 films étaient inscrits dans la
catégorie de l’Oscar du meilleur film étranger.
Soixante-et-onze candidats sur
une même ligne de départ. Lundi, l’Académie des Oscars a annoncé – et c’est un
record – avoir reçu 71 inscriptions pour la catégorie du même film en langue
étrangère, avec pour la première fois un long métrage kenyan «Nairobi Half
Life», ce qui témoigne du multiculturalisme du cinéma. Tous les films ne
partent pas avec les mêmes chances de s’imposer et même de recevoir une
nomination. Rappelons que celles-ci seront dévoilées le 10 janvier prochain, avant
la grande soirée du 24 février, bien sûr à Hollywood.
"Amour", grand favori
Distribué par les très influents
frères Weinstein aux Etats-Unis, «Intouchables» réalisé par Eric Toledano et
Olivier Nakache, et produit par «BBDA Quad Productions», représentera la France qui n’a plus conquis
cet Oscar depuis «Indochine» en 1993. Dans un premier temps, il faut passer
devant un panel de trente personnalités et critiques avant d’avoir une chance
d’être soumis aux votants de l’Académie. Le grand favori cette année est le
film autrichien –et francophone– «Amour» de Michael Haneke, Palme d’or du
dernier Festival de Cannes. Parmi les outsiders, citons le film belge «A perdre
la raison» de Joachim Lafosse, l’Allemand «Barbara» de Christian Petzold, le
Roumain «Au-delà des collines» de Cristian Mungiu, le Suédois «The Hypnotist»
de Lasse Hallstrom ou encore le sud-coréen «Pieta» de Kim Ki-du, Lion d’or du
récent Festival de Venise.
